Can we buy environment?
Price of environment have been discussed for verifying. Some insist that environment is priceless and some believe environment have some cost. I think, environment can be estimated by cost. "Precious" can be evaluated quantitatively.
First of all, if the influence of environment affect human activity, its cost can be estimated. No body cannot calculate exactly correct value. However, if you focus on its relation on society of human beings, environmental issue never free from money.
Environmental distraction may remind us of the Gulf spill. Recently, its impact is not just for contaminated area. It was cheering to see BP finally record some success in fixing its blown well, but for Gulf residents, the end of blowing is little more than a continuation of the beginning. And just as the worst environmental impact of the spill could be occurring out of sight, in the depths of the Gulf, the most lasting potential social damage is invisible i.e. anxiety and anger that erode community ties and the very psyches of the residents. I fully understand that some people highly evaluate environment. On the other hand, estimation of cost is necessary if you want to discuss its importance of environment in our society.
